New York Engineer Bob Chefalas has been mixing the upcoming feature "Fair Game," directed by Doug Liman. The film tells the true story of Valerie Plame, whose status as a CIA agent was revealed by White House officials who were allegedly out to discredit her husband after he wrote a 2003 New York Times op-ed piece saying that the Bush administration had manipulated intelligence about weapons of mass destruction to justify the invasion of Iraq. With biting performances from Sean Penn and Naomi Watts, "Fair Game" is sure to be a box office great game!  The film's release date has not been announced yet.

"Yellowbrickroad" Leads Down an Eerie Path

Dan Brennan of Soundtrack NY just finished mixing the recently released indie horror film, "Yellowbrickroad."  Written and directed by Andy Mitton and Jesse Holland, the film follows a small expedition trying to find answers to a backwoods legend.  According to the legend, the entire population of a New Hampshire town disappeared into a local forest 70 years ago after following a hidden trail named yellowbrickroad, never to be seen again.

The expedition sets out on the rediscovered yellowbrickroad trail with few among them believing they will find something terrible in the forest.  As their journey ensues, the forest starts to find something terrible in them.

Filmed in a style similar to "Blair Witch," this picture tackles psychosis and murder and draws inspiration from 70's horror flicks like "The Shining" and "Deliverance."  The film also includes a top notch cast including Cassidy Freeman (from "Smallville" and "CSI") and Lee Wilkof (from "Law and Order" and "Ally McBeal").

"Yellowbrickroad" premiered to sold out audiences at Slamdance Film Festival in January and at the Atlanta Film Festival last month. Complimented with a creative and hair-raising sound mix by our own Dan Brennan, it makes for a very enjoyable film that's certainly not to be missed!  A Note from Rob

For over 30 years we've been steering The Soundtrack Group to a place where it has the size and capability to handle the largest national ad campaigns and mixing of A-list Hollywood features, yet small enough to know that you like your mocha lattes with just a dash of sugar. This newsletter is our way of keeping you in touch with the things that The Soundtrack Group is doing to use developing technology, a terrific staff and a little chutzpah to handle your projects.
