'Shine A Light' -- Variety Review
The arc of the Rolling Stones’ evolving reputations -- from rock ‘n’ roll’s bad boys to its most beloved and resilient granddaddies -- can be traced by the most prominent guest stars in their early and late-career concert films: the Hell’s Angels in “Gimme Shelter” and former President Clinton and family in “Shine a Light.” Martin Scorsese’s energetic account of a Stones concert at Gotham’s Beacon Theater in fall 2006 takes full advantage of heavy camera coverage and top-notch sound to create an invigorating musical trip down memory lane, as well as to provoke gentle musings on the wages of aging and the passage of time. Revenue from home entertainment markets will far surpass that from limited theatrical runs, which launch in early spring after its Berlin Film Festival world preem Thursday night. http://www.variety.com/VE1117936095.html

Life is Wild
A successful run of 13 'Life Is Wild' shows (CW Network, Sundays 8pm) has been completed by the talented tandum of Louis Bertini (supervising editor) and Bob Chefalas (re-recording mixer). The show offered significant challenges in that it was shot in South Africa and posted in NYC, using African ADR facilities and making for a challenging foley job. Bobby and Lou did a fabulous job tying together all the loose ends and we're that we get the opportunity to work with this remarkable production crew again soon.

Naked Brothers Band
Who can resist Nat and Alex of the Naked Brothers Band?? We were so pleased to be a part of this show for Season One that we offered to move their production office into our facility for Season Two! The Brothers are Nickelodeon's most highly rated show of the year, and that's no surprise. Louis Bertini again is running the show from the editorial side, only this time has Colin Weeks mixing for him. By all accounts, Colin and Lou are doing a commendable job.

Sundance
Kudos to Tom Fleischman on mixing 'What Just Happened' for Barry Levinson that stars Bruce Willis, Robert DeNiro, Stanley Tucci and John Turturro (to name a few) and showing at Sundance. We think this comedy about the movie business will make a big splash, and should be released shortly (stay tuned).

Berlin Film Festival
Even MORE kudos to Tom Fleischman on mixing the new Rolling Stones documentary "Shine A Light" for Martin Scorcese, which is opening the Berlin Film Festival. Rumor has it that the Stones are a pretty good band, and this might be just what they need to put them over the top! Count on this being another modern classic, a la 'The Last Waltz'.

Gray Matters Opens
Gray Matters is the 2006 debut from director Sue Kramer starring the lovely Heather Graham and Bridget Moynahan and not-so-lovely-but-equally-talented Thomas Cavanaugh. Released by Yari Films, Gray Matters is a comedy about a love triangle with a twist (we're not telling), and was gracefully mixed at Soundtrack by Bob Chefalas.
