Bored to Death
We are thrilled to be working with I Like Pie Productions on the new HBO Comedy “Bored to Death”. The show stars Jason Schwartzman as a man who decides to become a private detective, and Zach Galifianakis who plays his buddy. Bob Chefalas is working on the mix with editors Louis Bertini, Dave Ellinwood, Nick Renbeck and Dan Ward. Doug Murray has been recording ADR and also Foley with wonderful Foley artist Leslie Bloom. It’s so nice to have Brad Carpenter back with us whom we worked with on “Sex & the City” and “Life is Wild”. The show will premiere on HBO in September.
Brooklyn's Finest
Soundtrack's Tom Fleischman recently finished mixing Brooklyn's Finest, a feature film by Antoine Fuqua, director of Training Day(2001) and Shooter (2007). Starring Richard Gere, Don Cheadle and Ethan Hawke, Brooklyn's Finest tells the story of three police officers in dire circumstances, whose lives intersect in the projects of Brooklyn. Everyone at Soundtrack F/T loved working on this film and can't wait to see it in theaters later this year!
Royal Pains
We hope you’ll tune in to USA Thursdays at 10pm to catch the newest show to do their ADR at Soundtrack, “Royal Pains.” Shot in the Hamptons and in Brooklyn, the series follows Mark Feuerstein’s character ‘Hank,’ as he tries to recover from a blow to his career. It has already received some fantastic reviews. We’re thrilled to once again be working with Michael Jacobi and the Anefx sound crew, who we also work with on “Gossip Girl.
Tribeca Film Festival
Soundtrack was well represented this year at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival, with four films being screened. Bob Chefalas had the pleasure of working with Spike Lee on his documentary, “Kobe-Doin’ Work” which also aired on ESPN this past May. Bob also fortunate to collaborate with Belladonna and C5 on the new film “The Good Guy”, which stars Alexis Bledel. The Best Documentary prize this year went to Marshall Curry’s ‘Racing Dreams”, another project mixed at Soundtrack by Bob. Tom Fleischman also got some Tribeca action, working with Spike Lee on his adaptation of the stage show “Passing Strange” which is the moving tale of a young American on a journey of escape and exploration. The film also premiered this year at Sundance to rave reviews.
Awake opens November 30th
While undergoing open heart surgery, a man's failed anesthetic leaves him completely alert, but paralyzed and unable to tell his doctors. Awake is a psychological thriller mixed at Soundtrack by Bob Chefalas. Released by The Weinstein Company, Awake is written and directed by Joby Harold, and stars Hayden Christensen, Jessica Alba, and Terrence Howard. http://imdb.com/title/tt0375785/
The Brave One Opens at #1
The Brave One took the #1 box office spot for the weekend of sept 14th. Mixed by Tom Fleischman, The Brave One was directed by Neil Jordan, starring Jodie Foster and Terrence Howard.
